Revation Wins Top Korean Honor at the Seoul Design Award 2025 with World’s First 100% Paper-Based Tape Cleaner, “arlt Paper Cleaner”

Sustainable packaging solutions company Revation (리베이션) has achieved a remarkable milestone as its arlt Paper Cleaner won a Grand Prize at the Seoul Design Award 2025, earning the highest ranking among Korean companies.

The arlt Paper Cleaner is the world’s first tape cleaner made entirely from paper, containing zero plastic components. Utilizing Revation’s proprietary Paper Mold technology, the cleaner achieves exceptional material density and durability, overcoming the traditional structural limitations of paper and fully replacing plastic parts.

Developed in collaboration with Yuhan-Kimberly, the product integrates a specialized tape technology that effectively removes lint and dust while minimizing fabric damage. Its refined, high-end minimalist design redefines the aesthetics of eco-friendly products, offering both functionality and elegance. The arlt Paper Cleaner has already received high acclaim from premium consumers worldwide, including the U.S. luxury retail market Erewhon.

The Seoul Design Award is an international public design competition that recognizes projects contributing to sustainable living by fostering harmony among people, society, and the environment. Operated by the Seoul Metropolitan Government since 2019 following the city’s designation as a UNESCO Creative City of Design, the award celebrates creative design solutions that address social challenges and align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Each year, entries are submitted from over 80 countries, and more than 20 nations’ leading design experts participate in the judging process — making it one of the world’s most respected sustainability design awards.

A Revation spokesperson stated:

“This recognition goes beyond creating an eco-friendly product — it affirms our contribution to solving environmental challenges and redefining consumer goods design through innovation in both material science and design. We will continue collaborating with global brands to deliver carbon-neutral, design-driven sustainability solutions that set a new standard for the future of sustainable design.”
