The cosmetics industry, which has a high proportion of plastic packaging materials, is actively adopting resource circulation policies such as applying alternative packaging materials, plastic recycling, and reuse. Providing one-stop service from material development to productionAmidst this atmosphere, specialist packaging development companies that focus on eco-friendliness are emerging, attracting attention in the industry. Established in April, REVATION is drawing attention by positioning itself as a green solution company that plans and produces everything about eco-friendly packaging. Unlike most packaging companies that have introduced eco-friendly packaging products in some lines, REVATION has prioritized eco-friendliness from its inception. It provides one-stop service from eco-friendly packaging material development to branding, design, and production. Most notably, LG Household & Health Care, Have & Be alumni designers, and product R&D and production experts jointly established the company. It has secured a separate design studio and a packaging material development research institute, as well as a production factory, enabling small-scale production of various products. Based on this, it proposes eco-friendly customized packaging solutions applicable to various industries, including cosmetics containers, household items, beverages, and clothing packaging. REVATION has set four main goals after its establishment and has developed or introduced materials accordingly. The four goals are reduction, reuse, biodegradation, and recycling. Material development based on the four goals of reduction, reuse, biodegradation, and recyclingRevation is developing various eco-friendly packaging materials. Starting from the top left in the picture clockwise, containers developed with biopolymer biodegradable materials, coffee chips made from recycled coffee husks, Eco chips made from recycled PEI materials, containers made from limestone materials.Reduction refers to replacing plastic with paper or new materials to reduce plastic consumption and carbon emissions. This includes paper molds and containers made from eco-friendly inorganic materials such as limestone, which can replace plastic packaging (trays). In particular, the paper mold is a material that has been improved over conventional pulp molds, boasting significantly higher price competitiveness and strength comparable to plastic, according to the company. Furthermore, possessing unique technology that allows printing on paper molds, it reduces the volume of packaging materials, thereby increasing consumer convenience. Containers made from inorganic materials such as limestone have already gained attention overseas as substitutes for plastic, contributing to resource circulation with carbon reduction effects and recyclability. They can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 89% compared to conventional petroleum-based plastics.Reuse refers to using recycled materials. This includes coffee chips made from coffee husks (coffee grounds) and eco chips made from recycled PEI materials. Coffee chips are a material successfully developed with proprietary technology. Worldwide, 20,000 tons of coffee husks are discarded every day, and they can be reused for various purposes such as cosmetic containers, brushes, and combs. Biodegradable materials include 100% biodegradable biopolymers such as Sulapac and eco-friendly pouch fabrics such as ECO45. Sulapac materials boast the advantage of leaving no microplastics behind. ECO45 is a pouch fabric composed of paper and oxidized biodegradable plastic film, which is used in facial mask packs, among others. The company expects that as eco-friendly issues take center stage in corporate ESG management, the expansion of plastic replacement packaging will continue. In addition to the main materials currently being developed, the company plans to continuously develop proprietary biodegradable bio-materials. CEO Im Min-sung stated, "The core of environmental issues such as recent climate change lies in carbon reduction, and it is essential to reduce plastic usage while promoting resource circulation for this purpose." He added, "Revation was established as an eco-friendly packaging specialist company in response to the increasing global demand for eco-friendly solutions, aiming to provide optimized eco-friendly product solutions as a companion partner in corporate ESG management and to leap as a global eco-friendly specialist company." https://www.cmn.co.kr/sub/news/news_view.asp?news_idx=36981
